Jennifer K. M. Ueki has been a licensed attorney since 2005. She previously practiced law at Marr Jones & Wang LLLP, where she successfully represented clients in a wide range of labor and employment matters in state and federal court, arbitration, and administrative proceedings. Jennifer has defended employers against allegations of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage and hour violations, and has also assisted clients with compliance matters such as reviewing employment policies and contracts and conducting internal workplace investigations.
Jennifer is a Certified Public Accountant and most recently served as the Deputy Auditor for the State of Hawaii, Office of the Auditor. Prior to that, she was the Finance Director for Hawaii Energy and also worked with the global accounting firm of KPMG LLP.
In the legal arena, Jennifer served pro bono as a Trustee for the Hawaii Lawyers’ Fund for Client Protection. She also participated as a Fellow with the Hawaii State Bar Association Leadership Institute. While in law school, Jennifer was an extern to the Honorable Kevin S.C. Chang of the U.S. District Court, District of Hawaii, and to the Hawaii State Legislature. She was also a member of the University of Hawaii Law Review.
Jennifer authored the article “To See or Not to See? The Real Question Behind the Supreme Court’s Grutter and Gratz Decisions,” which was published in the University of Hawaii Law Review. While in law school, Jennifer received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Contract Law and in Legal Method Seminar.
