Professional Experience

 

Emma E. K. Young was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, and graduated from Kamehameha Schools Kapalama.  She went on to attend Seattle Pacific University where she played NCAA Division II women’s soccer, before earning her J.D. from the University of Hawaii, William S. Richardson School of Law.

 

While in law school, Emma worked as a Teaching Assistant for Lawyering Fundamentals I & II, and was a Senior Editor for the Asian Pacific Law & Policy Journal (APLPJ).  She was also an active member of the Phi Delta Phi International Legal Honor Society and Federal Bar Association Hawaii Law Student Division.  Emma gained practical legal experience as a law clerk and summer associate at Ota & Hara, and now joins the firm as an associate attorney.

 

Emma is licensed to practice before all circuit and district courts in the State of Hawaii and the United States District Court for the District of Hawaii.
